Q: What safety measures are in place?

A: Personal safety is paramount and South Texas Kayak has an excellent safety record. Before every trip a weather and river risk assessment is conducted. Our veteran guides are Red Cross CPR certified, and have attended numerous water safety courses. Additionally, each guide carries a throw-rope, first-aid kit, cell phone and two-way radio (most trips have two guides).

Q: Do I have to wear a life jacket?

A: Yes. Our guides all lead-by-example and wear personal floatation devices (PFD). Your safety is important to us, so we request you wear one also.

Q: Why the liability waiver?

Your signature also affirms that you do not have any physical or mental conditions that would preclude you from successfully completing a guided adventure with South Texas kayak.
